National Philanthropy

Lambda Theta Alpha serves thousands of hours each year to a variety of philanthropic causes and needs. In an effort to create a greater impact nationally, Lambda Theta Alpha selected a national philanthropy, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. In January 2010, LTA became an official collegiate partner with St. Jude, becoming the first individual Latino Greek organization to commit fully to the hospital's efforts. With this partnership, Lambda Theta Alpha provides our resources of community service and activism and more importantly, another direct link to the Hispanic community for St. Jude. Lambda Theta Alpha has pledged to raise awareness about childhood cancer and St. Jude in the Latin community, as well as fundraise for the hospital through a variety of events and programs.

Past events have included: sporting tournaments, charity galas, informational meetings, and much more.

Lambda Theta Alpha asks all to join in on the fight against childhood cancer. Your donations will make a difference in the lives of many children and their families.

P.A.L.M.A.S. Program

The mission of the P.A.L.M.A.S program (Powerful Achieving Ladies Motivated And Successful) is to educate and mentor young women, who are currently enrolled in either Middle School or High School (ages 13-18), to become the leaders of tomorrow. We gear this program towards young women to help them overcome the many adversities that women of color face in this country. The purpose of this program is to instill positive qualities that will enhance their social, cultural and most importantly educational opportunities. This program will consist of educational programs, community services, leadership and development workshops, as well as social events.

Every October/November, Alpha Epsilon Alumnae Chapter participates in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk. Breast Cancer Awareness is very dear to our chapter as many of our families and loved ones have been affected one way or another by Breast Cancer. During this walk, the community unites for such a beautiful cause. Not only do those supporting awareness participate, but Breast Cancer Survivors as well.

As an initiative to raise money and awareness for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, every August, Alpha Epsilon collaborates with NWO Motorcycle Club for an Annual Pink Party. Friends and family enjoy each other's company as we fundraise for the walk. This is a tradition we hope to continue and honor the memory of those affected by this prevalent disease.
